This is not a diet. Just like “Made to Crave,” chapter sixteen states, “Why Diets Don’t Work.” Diets inevitably end in failure. This is a lifestyle change. Sugar addiction, to me, means you have let sugar rule your life. It consumes your thoughts. It is a large portion of your dietary intake. You crave it. ALL.THE.TIME. That is sugar addiction, to me. The goal of writing this series, for me, is to help you have the mental shift away from sugar to God, and to lasting dietary changes. In the upcoming months, I will get into more thoughts about what to eat, why, and how much, based on my health coach training and personal experience and opinion.
The best part of chapter sixteen is the following quote, and I will leave it with you today:
“I’m not on a diet. I’m on a journey with Jesus to learn the fine art of self-discipline for the purpose of holiness.”
~Lysa Terkeurst, “Made to Crave”
